Adopt A Pet
A new window in front of pets needing homes
Context
Overview
Over 1,000 people per hour run a search on AdoptAPet website looking to adopt a pet. Pet adoption is quickly becoming the preferred way to find a new dog, puppy, cat or kitten plus there are many benefits when you adopt a dog or adopt a cat over buying.
Working on the Adopt A Pet website was a very rewarding experience, as I was able to not just lead the project but apply my creative ideas and vision to it having complete creative freedom limited only by the brand guidelines aspects but also contributing to a cause I believe in.
I collaborated closely with the client's team to redesign, develop, and deliver visual designs in a consumer-facing environment. The ask was to reimagine the current web page to inform and educate users about the pet adoption possibilities and the benefits of doing it while helping the pets to find a new home.
My Role
I partnered with a junior designer and a project manager on this project. As a senior designer, I was responsible for imagining the creative vision and leading all efforts on the visual and research fronts.
My team and I explored similar competitors in the market of adoption in the USA and we dived into the newly presented brand of AdoptAPet.com. I created responsive designs, illustrations, micro-interactions, and prototypes to share the vision, design principles, and content strategy. This helped to conceptualize ideas, gain alignment, and drive decision making on the client side.
Timeline
Over the four weeks timeline, we had three creative reviews where design directors from the client side gave feedback and critiques, and two stakeholder reviews where they gave higher-level business direction.
After our initial delivery, the contract was renewed and new business was acquired. Then, we started another round of six weeks to work on different segments of the website where we also expanded the illustration work.
